Why do you call the company Shoe Stör? Do you sell shoes?

Posted by admin in About Us, F.A.Q

The name Shoe Stör is a play on the words shoe (noun), as in foot wear and store(verb, used with object), as in to deposit in a storehouse, warehouse, or other place for keeping.  Shoe Stör does not sell shoes, Shoe Stör sells shoe storage solutions.

How to Close a Shoe Stör Box

Posted by admin in F.A.Q

1. Make sure the scored lines running the length of the box are well creased. Sometimes they get flattened out during shipping; How a closed box should look

2. Fold the smaller SIDE-FLAPS (the side-flaps each have a semi-circle cut out of them) into the box and crease well along each scored line. Then bend each of these smaller SIDE-FLAPS back all the way so each meets with and touches the outside side of the box and crease each well along the scored lines;

3. Fold the larger END-FLAPS down into the inside of the box and crease well along the scored lines. Next, bend each of these larger END-FLAPS back all the way so each meets with and touches the outside top or bottom of the box and crease each well along the scored lines;

4. a. Fold the SIDE-FLAPS inward so each is at a 90 degree angle with the sides of the box; b. Fold the larger square-shaped END-FLAP upwards so that it covers the smaller SIDE-FLAPS; c. Fold the triangular-shaped END-FLAP with the semi-circle point downwards so that it overlaps and covers the square-shaped END-FLAP;

5. Close each end by placing your forefinger around the semi circular point of the triangular-shaped END-FLAP and pull back while using your thumb to press in against the semi circular flap forcing it into the square hole in the square-shaped END-FLAP. When closed, the semi-circular point should stick out slightly, giving you a tab with which you use to open the box. Repeat at the other end of the box; and

6. Now open one end of the box and put a pair of shoes in them like you would a traditional shoe box.

How Do I Stack Shoe Stör’s Boxes

Posted by admin in F.A.Q

easy………right on top of one another.   We decided to use a camera for good rather than evil today and stacked up 9 boxes in the middle of the bedroom in order to give you an idea of how to stack and How Not To stack the boxes.

Stack_of_9 How to stack Shoe Stör’s clear boxes

Well, first of all, don’t stack them 9 tall in the middle of a room;

When you removed a pair of shoes from a box, close the clasp.

Notice in the first picture, we have an empty box near the bottom.  When you have removed a pair of shoes from a box, be sure to close the box when you remove the shoes.  Leaving the box open decreases the structural strength of the box and leaves the possiblity of a box collapse.  Not much of an issue if you have a stack of 2 or 3 boxes, but if you are a “closet “daredevil and think that a stack of 12 or 13 boxes is a neat thing to show your friends, make sure you close your boxes

Stack_of_9_open How not to stack our clear boxes

This second picture demonstrates how not to stack the boxes………..with an open box somewhere in the middle of the stack.

As far as how many boxes to stack on top of one another.  It is really up to your descretion, but remember, at some point, the laws of physics do apply.
