How many times a week do you think to yourself, I need more
storage space in my closet? Truth be told, a well built good closet
organizer can double the storage space in your closet and make it
easier for you to find your clothes.
Closet organizers come in two flavors, the built-in, custom designed
and the “off-of-the-shelf”, wire closet organizer that you can buy at
Home Depot.
Custom built closet organizers are typically constructed out of wood
and installed by professional designers. These systems are more
expensive, but last a long time. Additionally, since these
systems are built by closet organization specialists, you benefit from
their years of design experience. A cheaper approach is to use wire
closet organizers that do not offer the same level of customization.
When you select a closet organization system, make sure that it suits
your wardrobe.
Do you have a thing for shoes or a pile of scarves? There are many
different storage units you can incorporate into your closet design to
make things easier to find and also give you more storage space.

Clear shoe boxes- each clear shoe box fits a pair of shoes and they
stack on top of each other;
Double or “stacked” rods – for hanging shorter items on top of each
other which gives you twice as much capacity;
Shelves - for folded jeans, sweaters, purses and hats;
Tiered Racks - for ties, scarves or belts; and
Drawers – perfect for personal items – even better if the drawers have
locks (just don’t lose the key).
A well though out closet organizer can increase your storage space and
possibly save you the trouble of throwing your spouse’s clothing in the
garbage. In the end the decision probably comes down to how much do you
want to spend. |
